Installation Instructions: Tree Grates - Square

Step 1

Underground preparation / Concrete foundation

Create a gravel or sand bed of approx. 5 cm thickness on a load-bearing substrate and lay the concrete foundation on top. Join the foundation beams with tongue and groove. The foundation must be placed below the upper edge of the covering, reduced by the height of the insertion frame (check for each order). Please make absolutely sure that the foundation is installed level and parallel to the surrounding surface.

Attention: A traversability of up to 50 kN can only be guaranteed if the system is installed correctly.

Step 2

Screwing the support frame

2-part insert frame must be screwed with the following materials:

• 4 pieces hexagon head screw M12
• 4 pieces washers M12
• 4 pieces hexagon nut M12

Step 3

Screwing the support frame with concrete foundation

Place the complete insert frame on the concrete foundation and screw the foundation without tension using the following materials:

• 4 pieces hexagon head wood screw
• 8 pieces washers
• 4 pieces nylon plugs
  (mounting kit not included in delivery)

Recommendation:
For better stability, support frames with a side length of 2000 mm or more should be fixed to concrete foundations.

Step 4

Insert tree grate

Insert the individual segments of the tree grate into the support frame.

Step 5

Screwing the tree grate

Tree grate installation

Insert cast-iron tree grate segments into frames and secure with
by the following materials:

• 4 or 8 pieces U-bolt M14 A2
• washes M14
• hexagon nut M14
• plastic plug 35x12

Attention Trip hazard:
Please make sure that the threads of the U-bolts do not protrude beyond the tree grating.
